The JRPP determination Process

Below is a simple explanation of the Joint regional Planning Panels (JRPP) DA determination process.

The Public Submission phase ended on 16/10/09. Old Submission Information  but that doesn't stop you writing a brief letter now!

The next part of the determination process, is for the Shoalhaven City Council (SCC) to investigate the Development Application DA09/2077 taking into consideration referrals to outside agencies and the many public submissions. There may be some more requests for more reports and/or clarifications from the Applicant.
Then when the SCC has all the information it requires, it will submit a report (Section 79c environmental assessment) to the Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP) for their consideration.
The panel will then consider the report and all other information, hold a public hearing (where people who made a submission may be able to address the Panel), then make a decision of consent (which may include conditions) or rejection.

At a panel meeting, after hearing all the submissions, the panel may:

1.  approve an application (with or without conditions), or
2.  refuse an application with reasons, or
3.  defer a decision so as to seek additional information or clarification of issues before making a determination.

The JRPP is the determining authority and then will hand over any consent to Council to enact and enforce any conditions.

This process may take till the end of February 2010 or longer.

(when we have more information on this process we will publish it on the news page).
