If enough letters of objection are received by the SCC by 13/08/2010 then it may be rejected as "Not in the Public Interest".

Points of concern relating to the Noise Attenuation Wall abutting Gumden Ln could be:

1. How can the public properly digest and access the development when there is no detailed information relating to the actual construction of the wall.
2. Conflicts with existing Tourist facility abutting the wall and would cause much diminished amenity for the holiday cabins.
3. Interferes with an existing wildlife corridor.
4. No EIS (Environmental Impact Study) or Flood Study relating to the Wall itself.
5. Sediment from the wall will end up in Tomerong Creek (an ecologically significant watercourse) during rain.
6. May reflect noise to other residents further South on Gumden Ln.
7. Other existing residents fronting Gumden Ln will still be unprotected from the same heavy industrial noise of the estimated 20,000 to 25,000 heavy truck movements a year down a rural Lane. No consideration given to these land owners relating to noise, dust, fuel particulates, health, land value, and their overall diminished amenity.
   

We can't actually write the content of the letter for you, but it can be as simple as "I object to this DA on the grounds that it is inappropriate environmentally, socially and economically. As a concerned resident of the Shoalhaven I strongly urge you to reject this application".
